Our one and two day river trips on the rivers Dart, Exe, Teign and Exeter Canal, are ideal for individuals, families and groups. With no experience necessary, these trips include a thorough introduction to open canoeing and during lunch we teach you traditional fire- lighting and some basic bush craft skills.
You can optionally choose to extend these trips into two day journeys, staying in your own natural shelter and learning some more advanced bush craft skills. Also see our canoe camping expeditions and Essential Bushcraft courses.
Wye Valley and River Dart Canoe & Bushcraft
Ideal for one and two day canoe and bush craft trips, much of the river Dart is inaccessible by foot and stunningly beautiful. After paddling your canoe to our overnight stop, build your own shelter, light your fire the traditional way and relax in the peace!
The River Wye is a haven for canoeists and those who appreciate the wilder side of life, teeming with Otters, Voles, Mink, Salmon and Trout, whilst above you can see Buzzards, Kingfishers, Herons, Red Kites and Peregrine Falcons.
Explore this superb river and approach it’s wildlife quietly by open canoe. Our guides will instruct you in canoeing as well as bushcraft skills and help you to recognise the wildlife. Spend between 2 and 6 days exploring the river and paddle through the fantastic Symonds Yat rapids. Either camp or bivouac in the evening at peaceful riverside campsites.
